Software design is subjective. After years of professional work, I cannot stand anymore getting entangled in architecture/design discussions. Any competent software engineer (most of us are) can come with a reasonable working solution

If OpenAI implements such an endpoint, then a big chunk of potential customers would just not use ChatGPT… I mean, if I’m a student planning to use ChatGPT to enhance my uni essays, but it turns out OpenAI actually can say to my uni if my t

One disadvantage is that now you have N keys instead of 1, plus you need to remember the deciphering order.

The Agile Manifesto it’s a nice read but you cannot put it in practice. It’s like the Bible: everyone has its own interpretation. Not sure why we still talk about it.

Not the only market, but a big part of it. People who work on social media will definitely make use of ChatGPT… unless Twitter, FB, et. al start to label tweets and messages with “Written by ChatGPT”. Same goes for anything that has to do w

But that would immediately scare away all the future potential OpenAI customers… why would OpenAI do that? If customers know that it’s possible to determine that a text came from ChatGPT with a 100% accuracy, then no one would use ChatGPT.

Agree. But how do tools that detect ChatGPT text can distinguish between the different contexts that lead to the outputted text? They can’t.

Maybe off topic: is it fine to publicly say that you have $3.6M in bitcoin using a profile name that exposes who you are in real life? Wouldn’t the IRS (or local equivalent) come to knock your door and ask for taxes on that money?

I did (although 8 months ago). 20% salary raise. Same responsibility. I was getting around 5% salary raises (annually) at my previous job… it was almost impossible to get more (unless you were willing to take over way more responsibilities)

If there is only one thing business and companies should be sentimental about is about their origins. No room for sentimental stuff when doing anything else. Twitter is employing humans and the end of the day, not robots.

Nah, it happened with IT. We now have tools and frameworks that allows developers to be 5x, 10x more productive than 30 years ago. There are more developers now than ever. The demand is higher than ever as well.

Trunk development is not about rebase, it’s about short-lived branches that get incorporated into the main branch soon. How they get incorporated (git merge is good enough) is not relevant.

The flow you have described works (besides the last ‘git rebase master’), though. When ‘git merge master’ is run, the developer either get conflicts (which can be then fixed) or not. After that ‘git push’ and you can open a PR. I certainly
