I thought a lot about this comment and I don't mean to insult you but- I think you could constantly optimize towards the convenient and it wouldn't solve any problems. For instance, perhaps you would prefer to sit in a chair all d

Really had to laugh out loud at this one. To point out the obvious and make my comment more substantive- this article is concerned about the type of murder that isn't happening, when corporations kill us off every day for money. Hello,

Nobody is questioning the convenience of cars. However, if you have ever had a no commute life- whether it be full remote, or a walkable commute- I think you may just happen to flip your tune. It is a simple delight. If we could build a wor

My TC is significantly lower(half) but we aren't public and not a FAANG so. Living in Seattle on two high incomes(maybe not relative to you, but still) and having no kids was amazing. Paid off about 80k of student loans in a short amou

Interesting. If transitioning from amount of social interactions is difficult it might also explain someone having personal difficulty when going from say, an infrastructure gig to a software support gig.

Hm, maybe I just got lucky, but there were multiple fenced in parks near my apartment in Seattle that allowed dogs to be off leash. In addition my dogs love to run with me in cooler months. In any case they were pretty satisfied with walks

As opposed to what other kind of lives? Suburban and rural folks will be just as screwed when they don't have a wal-mart or a costco to get supplies from.

Went remote. Bought a house back near my family. Mortgage is nearly a quarter the cost of my one bedroom in Seattle. I'll miss Seattle, for sure, but at least now I don't have to hustle so hard. Especially with a kid on the way.

For about six months before I moved closer to work I had a super commute between Olympia, WA to Kent, WA just south of Seattle. I do not recommend this. Anyways- for the first month or so I used Waze religiously as this is a notoriously bad

No such thing was done. You can find instances of awful stuff happening in any city- anywhere in the world. This is exactly what makes statistics useful.
