My issue is that it’s worse than anecdata. You’re saying “I’m pretty sure really bad things happen here.” And that’s it. Nothing any more of substance. Just more negative noise with no evidence, links or anything. Just noise. The preface of

For what it’s worth to anyone who finds themselves reading this for whatever reason; the author of the above comment changed their original post from a snarky “have you?” To its current form after my reply. In my opinion that is not the beh

I _love_ cars. I also _love_ bicycles. I'm not saying I'm normal but perhaps I can provide some perspective. Even before I went fully remote 2 years ago I took a combination of bicycle and train to work here in Seattle where publi

The point is not that they don’t have positives; but that they don’t pay for themselves. If you want to live in a cul de sac you should at least pay more in taxes to keep up the inefficient infrastructure you require for your lifestyle. Iro

It is so strange to me specifically because the cohort that seems to be eating this up(my parents age, I mean) were the same ones telling me NOT to believe anything I read on the internet when I was young and the internet was new. What happ

My wife and I have been using an app called Todoist(no affiliation) and have been loving it. Groceries is a shared list either of us can contribute to or check off of at any time.

Sure but your 7 year old kid would say the same thing about The Godfather vs the Matrix. That doesn’t mean The Godfather hasn’t aged well.

I don't think moderation is the problem- The beauty of the age of forums was that you were forced to seek out communities to discuss similar interests or topics. People were forced to put in the effort to create them as well. Now it is

I’d rather live in Seattle than live in a cheap mansion in Kalamazoo. I’d rather my family live here as well. That’s the entire point of my post. There is a reason it is cheap and it is not a price I am willing to pay.

Again...that’s exactly my point; when you make blanket statements about broad groups of people you always end up being wrong in a lot of cases...I’m not the only young person who gladly chooses to live in a big city- not by a long shot.

I tried to explain this in another comment; you don’t have to go to shock sites to see this anymore. In a main feed on Twitter Instagram or reddit you might see someone getting the pulp beaten out of them.
