Yeah I have an issue open for it, but there's no point supporting others until AWS is very robust and feature-complete. Now's can't even tail logs by the looks of it haha, extremely premature announcement.

Ah, yeah apex(1) doesn't have a revenue stream so it would have just been a huge maintenance burden :D

All of their resource management for DNS, certs, domains, etc is done using sub-commands which are not reviewable. Sure they can have an audit trail of events, but Terraform/CloudFormation are industry standard now, as changes can be e

I am an indie developer already. It would be possible to avoid VC, if startups weren't able to offer everything for free for long periods of time. Competing at a the level of skill instead would be nice, their product certainly does n

Rauch talks as if he invented the one-command deploy, Heroku did this shit yearsssss ago, not to mention dozens of other platforms and tools. All they're doing is making a really crappy version of Heroku with 1/20 the features, po

What's the mature way to handle startups ruining opportunities for people who actually want to earn a real living, instead of hiding behind VCs like cowards? Sorry if my ranting comes off as immature, you're probably not wrong hah

Totally agree, but when someone is going to copy you and make it free, not a lot I can do in that case, at least not to my knowledge.

Not when you have to actually make money haha. Can't really execute without money, that's the entire point of startups, starve out the little guy with your free offerings until you can sell the team and hype.

This was clearly rushed to get ready to compete with Up, it pretty much copies my blog post exactly in terms of implementation. Expect to see the other ideas from the repo in there soon. As I said on Twitter, it's a CLI, literally anyo

Currently no webapp but I opened an issue for it :D, and I agree on the IP issue, I'll see if I can come up with something better there.

I have a number of customers (of https://apex.sh/ping/ ) using us-east-1, I can confirm that it's an intermittent but large outage from what I'm seeing, still some 200's though.

I'm a huge fan of Lambda, but these prices really need to go down. If anyone thinks API Gateway is cheap, just do the math, this is a trivial amount of traffic for even the smallest of EC2 instances. Head over to http://serv

Lambda itself is already ~300% more expensive than EC2, but in comparison API Gateway is indeed much much more than Lambda for processing the requests.

It's not highly available, in fact Lambda just went down in two regions.

Just my opinion, but I think API Gateway is massively over priced, considering a t2.nano could easily do the same job, and just slap that in a auto-scaling group to keep it running. API Gateway doesn't even come close to EC2. I could s

It's just my opinion of course :) but I think css-in-js is a step backwards in the majority of cases. I do like CSS modules in terms of scoping / modularity, but I don't want to replace CSS with (what I consider to be) really

Yeoman is boilerplate, this is code which directly avoids boilerplate, since it's an abstraction instead. Yeoman IMO encourages the wrong things, most true boilerplate (files) can just be a sample repo that you clone.

We all do basically the same thing in every app ever, it's the fragmentation that is such a huge pain with JavaScript. Most apps don't have to be unique snowflakes, we make them that way with hacky css-in-js and so on. Webpack is

Works great, I like this approach much better than the variants that I've seen, this is exactly what I was hoping to see. It's simple, concise, imposes nothing on you, ships with good presets (from what I've seen so far), sti

Nice this looks like the best implementation of webpack-hiding stuff I've seen yet, forcing less on you but still hiding it nicely. Glad that more people are realizing boilerplate generation is not a solution, I get angry even looking

I just index S3 with SQL, that combination is plenty powerful, not a huge worry, but it might be interesting to see more native support for that kind of thing.

You can easily abuse non-serverless solutions as well... when signing the S3 request you could have internal logic and prevent this kind of behaviour, by just not signing the request.

I thought this too. You could easily ship/eval the toString()'s of the functions in individual Lambda functions, the name is definitely confusing haha.

Flattered, but honestly many of us are just well-known because we work in the average domain, where many people happen to be. I don't think people should really look up anything I do that way, there are plenty of far more skilled progr
