Agreed. I could never find an IDE for java I liked on OS X. Eclipse is ugly, buggy and crashes every few hours. NetBeans is better, but not by much.

I've often heard companies saying they would love to hire more women, but they lack the applicants. Can anyone that handles hiring for a company speak out on even the perceived ratio of applicants? For what it's worth, I recently recommende

I'm having trouble finding any other churches that exhibit good SEO practices. The catholic church doesn't have such a strong presence, the closest I can find is the westboro baptist church.

I agree completely. Every time I demo some code, people remark at my zsh setup (which I cloned from an article posted here some time ago). Unfortunately, when I suggest they do some customizations themselves, they make excuses and complain

This is good advice for starting a day, or ending a day. So many times when I get home from a long day I think I'm too tired to get any work done, but after a 30 min run or bike ride, my mind is ready to start hacking on a project again. It

You would be surprised how many known bugs an average game has when it ships. I'm sure the last week before GM is a very hectic week for those individuals that are determined to increase quality without breaking the game, but there are only

|In my opinion, that is how a "good", company would react. This is (more or less) how Github has reacted to security issues in the past. However, at the moment this seems to be a fairly small exploit, that wasn't aggressively us

I live in SF, followed this link to make sure that Patxi's is indeed the best Chicago style Pizza in the city. Lo and behold, it is. I'm not surprised, because their pizza really is the best I've seen outside of Chicago.

I've really enjoyed Ctrl+a and Ctrl+e recently to move between the beginning and end of the command prompt - it's really a lot more useful than I initially thought.

In zsh, !! is expanded by the shell, but leaves the expanded command at the terminal, waiting for you to execute it. Most of the time this means I have to hit enter twice to run the command, but it's convenient when I want to explain to som

I'm really doubting that "vagina" is in the top 500. They must be counting these as basic dictionary lookups and discounting them that way. Any good password cracker would definitely try a dictionary attack before brute force.

I agree, attacking this from a gay rights angle will probably be the best approach. If he can get a major publication to run with this, PayPal will have to respond.

Have you tried contacting any news organizations? I can imagine a few in and around San Francisco would probably be interested in this, as it has a direct impact on Gay Rights. This seems like complete discrimination. They shouldn't be able

I was thinking more of small, 3rd party developers. Right now, if I'm deploying a client-server app, I ssh into my machine, send lots of debug json at it via curl, and do a lot with "arbitrary data" that would end up costing me a lot of mon

If you're a senior in college right now, the best advice I can give you is to take an idea you have (even if it's not your best) and try to execute it. Even if you don't ever launch, you'll learn a lot about starting a business and getting
