This is, regrettably, unattainable for many in the US (economy).

I understand the article is clickbaiting about male genitalia, but does Apple submit vague patent applications because the legal SOP is to cover as many usecases as possible? If so, is it primarily to preclude competition or is it to keep t

3/4 of Americans are overweight or obese, which, I suspect, precludes an appetite for the outdoors.

Eh, I’m fervently anti-diamond (they’re silly imo), but I can acknowledge that, to some, they represent (I think?) a lasting commitment and are a cultural tradition. If the desire is emotional, then there’s no reasoning with it anyway. (And

This was the opposite of clickbait. The pertinent part of the discovery is a 2100 year old coin from pre-Roman Britain stamped with some (“obscure”) ruler’s name, meaning the British Isles had coin-based commerce before the Romans arrived.

This stance is predicated on interest rates. Taking out a mortgage is currently not the clear cut “right choice.” It might be the optimal choice, but consider, for a loan issued today at over 6%, twice as much money over the lifetime of the

I like working in internal software for my company. Keeps me close to the customer (other devs). The feedback loop is tight so I quickly learn whether my work helped someone else. Plus, you get to know so many other ways of being a software

Perhaps this is a naive question, but wouldn’t a preventative measure for heart disease (stopping obesity via, say, ozempic) do more for longevity than repairing the heart after dysfunction has taken root? Not to mention the quality of life

For reference, here’s a Dhivehi-English dictionary. https://twothousandisles.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/dhiv... (It lists only ethnic wear as a translation for “feyli.”)

A simpler system can “solve” a problem, but it often disregards complexity instead of handling it. A federal sales tax is such an example. It simplifies the calculation of tax burden (solves the problem) by implementing a regressive tax cod

Not disagreeing, but consider the user base of iOS vs Android. iOS users are wealthier/etc., so exploits affecting them seem more likely to be “newsworthy” and, hence, more likely to be pursued (higher upside). Similarly, consider how

Not sure what part of GP was a quip. The post GP is replying to reads as satire unless you hold a Hobbesian view of the social contract. It could be a line from Silicon Valley.

During COVID, I made friends who are 10/25/40ish years older than me. I firmly believe we will be lifelong friends, i.e. til death do us apart. Lasting friendships form in mysterious ways. You need only be open to the possibility.

Bit of a straw man. It is as easy (and common) to eat (refined) crap as a vegetarian as it is to do so as a meat-eater. A well-balanced vegetarian diet does not leave your mind addled by malnutrition. Refined sugar is not necessary either.
