Wouldn't it make more sense to pay the insurance up front, though? Or at least reserve money for it up front?

If you want to play number games like that, then you should also acknowledge that many who died were on the brink of dead already without Covid. You should only count excess deaths, not who was tested or not. Show me the 3 million excess de

Children don't generally die from Covid19. Your numbers are exaggerated, Covid is not the only cause of death around the world. The load of sick people is also not exceptionally high, at least not in the intensive wards (don't hav

You misinterpret my statement, that is all. I mentioned "women in tech" as an example, because those articles are usually political. They tend to be about alleged discrimination and demands for special treatment of women in tech.

How would "they" make it difficult to offer the same services cheaper? The only institution that can do that is government via regulations (like who can practice law or become a dentist). I agree that there are some (many?) fishy

Huh what makes you think that I think you are political because you are a "woman in tech"? Women in tech is political when it comes along with the unfounded claim that there are so few women in tech because of sexism. I didn'

I fail to see the relevance of your analogy? CEOs may or may not be psychopaths, but afaik it is not illegal to be a psychopath? Nor does it imply such a person will do evil things? I personally think that the "successful pyschopaths&q

Is QAnon prevalent? I keep reading it is, but I have never encountered it. (Edit: I just googled it, and Wikipedia claims there have been studies finding hidden Facebook groups about QAnon with millions of users. Seriously, I don't thi

Rising rents are not evidence that rising rents are a major cause of homelessness. "what happens when you lose your job, and then lose your apartment as a result?" Then losing your job is the cause, not the rising rents. "So

The idea that conspiracy theories transported via the web cause so much damage ("wreak havoc all over the world", according to the article) is in itself a conspiracy theory. And one that makes for good newspaper articles. 9/1

Is there any evidence for people becoming homeless because of skyrocketing rents? Are there no renter protections in the USA, anyway? The theory is simple that where the area is rich, there are more jobs - catering to the rich people, but a

So what percentage of rich people do you figure are such "crooks with suits and big smiles"? Of course crooks exist. Most people are not crooks, though. And especially the professionals you mention may have problems to persist. Li

I literally asked a question. And I meant choose San Francisco as the place to be homeless in, not choosing homelessness. If you would apply the principle of charity, you would have been able to read my comment correctly.

You have a weird concept of "thievery". If someone's prices are too high, don't hire them. If somebody doesn't pay enough, don't work for them. If you think they are skimming money, then there has to be a way t

Here in Germany we have homeless people, and Romania wouldn't come to mind as a place where they don't. More likely I would expect people from Romania to be homeless in Germany. I think some homeless here are (possibly illegal) im
