Seems to be a strange thing though in our justice system- that seemingly more minor crimes have greater maximum sentences (and sometimes mandatory minimums) than more violent/harmful crimes. I know it isn't just something we can &

Seems like a good followup post. I'd read that. I mean essentially it would make NES games running natively in the browser with no emulator right?

This is amazing. Also, this is the Dark Magic of programming that I don't think I'll 100% grok in 20 years, but its good to try! edit: now that I think of it, I really need to keep expanding my knowledge. I'm going to go thro

I attached my Fitbit to our kitten a while ago. Worked pretty well and the data was interesting. Also, now my Fitbit has kitten teeth marks from her finding it something fun to chew on.

I actually started my career in programming by contracting. A friend at my coworking loft needed the prototype for a project made. I told him I had no clue what I was doing, but I'd give it a shot and he said he'd pay me. The prototype was

I think for basic functionality, we still have a long way to go with Git clients. There's no reason we can't make a Git client that's as simple to use as FTP, and obscures advanced functionality completely unless a user asks for it. Githu

I don't see what would prevent those hosts from updating. Its not like installing SFTP and Postgres is that big of a deal (even on a huge deployment, it shouldn't take that long...)

Exactly. I don't expect all users to start manually SSH'ing into systems, but at least use SSL FTP or SFTP.

That's pretty interesting. It makes me even happier that I've switched over to using passwords like .!a7&Xn2\#ZRS]!:`\.H2j;{7 for everything (unique per-site, password manager). I'm guessing that such a password, when properly generated

I guess I'm looking at it from a hiring perspective. I don't care how old someone is honestly. I just care what they can do and what they contribute to the team. Having a bit of grey hair is probably an asset, since hopefully they've been t

Maybe its because I'm not old (30), but the sentiment of this post strikes me as bullshit. At any age, if you've got something unique to offer and can contribute- you can get hired. If you've let your skills lapse, or have become inflexib
