You don't own the servers at Linode. Colocation is putting your server in someone's data center. This is good if you have a large number of custom servers, but don't want to manage the bandwidth, power, cooling etc... yourself.

Wow. This is both genius, and despicable. It's amazing what kind of profit they drive, yet it seems like they're really taking advantage of people with gambling addictions, or poor money management skills.

As I mentioned, it's for people you know (and would be comfortable having that conversation with). I've worked for friends, and I'm clear up front that I'm not free, but I'm also more willing to work with them on price for stuff (as it's u

With any successful venture (re: Ticketstumbler) there come a host of imitators. If you're making money, someone will copy (and possibly improve upon) your idea. It'll be interesting to see if Ticketstumbler responds to this, and how.

Well, to start, if you really know these people, ask what their budget is and set something in that range that you think is fair. If you're not sure about the people, then you ought to consider things like rent, food, etc... One great plac

Yes but for someone like me (Read: not a lawyer, can't afford one) a service like this can save me a ton of money. I understand there are risks when not working with a lawyer, and I haven't actually submitted yet because my partner and I a

Sorry, I'm new to this whole thing... what is the $250 franchise fee? Is it federal or state and is it required for ALL LLCs or just DE? I'm looking to incorp. in Michigan with a buddy of mine, is this going to to screw us come tax time?

I don't have a highrise account, however looking at the screenshots it looks well done. I like the 'Text Message' option I see there as well. Did you do a write up anywhere of what your experience was with the app store and all of the proc

I guess whatever works for the person looking to make money works... but it's sad to think that people in the US have to compete on rates with people who will work for less than half of a living wage in the US. I mean, I'm sure http://www

I think this is an excellent idea, however from the standpoint of someone who provides tech support to students at my university, this would be a disaster for a good portion of the student body. A good number of people here can barely turn

Well... given his track record, I'd say this sets up Android to be an enormous success. This says a lot about Microsoft's stance on the phone market as well (we won't innovate unless we can make serious money!). Edit: I'm not the only one!

Maybe I'm missing something but isn't the installer for Debian usually smaller and more tuned for servers, and isn't this command line only version of Ubuntu basically the same as Debian? Why use Ubuntu for servers?
