the word "child" was used since I wanted to use a gender neutral language and "offspring" is not a word that came to mind. "kid" would have been equally bad.

Thank you.. I do 100% agree that there's nothing wrong with 3.0, I honestly do, and FWIW have never bothered them about the grades or said that they are not good. I was around average back in my day and have told them that. My worry is

Not sure where the OP mentioned that, but yes, there should be No conditions on the support and love for one's child. It's part of an unwritten contract one sign's into when one decides to have children.

Thank you, and that's the concern. Every waking moment, literally, is spent in gaming. Slept at 8am (not a typo), woke up at 2pm and went directly to game. How is that not an addiction?
