I think in context, "vacant" means a property that nobody is living in and is not on the market for rent. It's simply owned by someone as an asset. This was the complaint in some parts of Canada: Chinese owner/investor

Thanks for clarifying. I don't have experience with boxing myself, but yes I was mostly talking about competition (i.e. fight to knock-out) and it makes sense that training is more about the skills you mention.

NeXT had already done the work to support M68K, Sun/SPARC, HP PA/RISC and IA-32 before Apple acquired them. They have been architecture-independent for quite some time.
