I didn't get a chequebook so I don't know but they did give me a nice leather wallet for my cash and cards. They still have a doorman but I don't think he wears a top hat.

They have depositors but you're right that they don't have investors, and decisions are made by people (i.e. the partners who own the bank) exercising their judgment instead of "Computer Says No!", like at most banks.
