Once drones become prolific, they will start killing drones instead of people and maybe we can have a bloodless war the same way we have paperless offices.

My major peeve with the show is how the exciting villains introduced in the first five minutes never return. I was also annoyed that Inigo Montoya died so soon.

Um, MWI is not QM. MWI is an elegant way of explaining the results of QM just as 6000 years ago God was an elegant way of explaining creation. It is interesting to think about but without proof of any kind it has little value. Think about t

Ivanhoe was quite an eye-opener, I genuinely had no idea Europe was so strongly anti-Semitic during that period.

Absolutely. The few times I've been surprised by the kindness of strangers stand out to me as some of the most pleasant experiences of my life.

You are of course referring to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive Which does not actually break Einsteins limit, although it does work like a Star Trek warp-drive. Of course the energy requirements are virtually impossible to s

Have you considered exactly which frame of reference would be required for it to appear to happen in our future?

The phrase 'interactive textbooks' is very interesting. A kindle textbook, where you could play with values and see the results... That's something I would like to see in highschools.

Could you make it so that the longer someone plays, the harder it is to stay alive? Armour provides progressively less protection, you require more food, there are more monsters, monsters are more powerful, lightning more frequent etc...

I don't see why a special spec would be necessary, you could just physically disable the usb drive.

The issues he discusses seem to be addressed by phygg, essentially a combination of arvix and digg for physics: http://www.phygg.com/phygg/ I see no reason why this shouldn't work for arvix as a whole.

Lethal to people who don't look where they are walking. Natural selection thinning the herd, I think it's a fair trade for reduced noise pollution. I'd be surprised if iPods haven't already begun the process.

Not sure that matters too much? I can still identify myself through other means. For example if my online bank password is lost that's an inconvenience. If someone else gets it, that's a nightmare.

Quoting from article: What scientists don't know yet is how 46 chromosomes came to win out over 48. There is almost certainly no advantage in how the DNA is packaged. If anything, having a different number of chromosomes hurts someone in te
