While I don't think Google should follow Yahoo, I wouldn't say Yahoo has been unsuccessful.

I have so many tags. Can you not just take all the tags, see which ones I link/use the most, and then prioritize my news on that basis? Clicking tags seems like it's waste of time and is too much tunnel-vision. Neat concept, definitely.

Well, I wanted that, too ("Python Pirates, Arr!") But it has a little bit of a bad connotation. Sounds like people who steal code all the time. "Pirates ship it."

Using apps or normal function? If I don't (ever) use any 3rd party apps, the phone seems about the same as before. After I play some games, I tend to power off and power back on to get it back into good shape. Hopefully they'll get this sor

And, if you're an average developer, it could eat literally days and days of time with frustrating and odd failures in corner cases with your web applications. If you build an application, I suppose doing it on systems with mod_security alr

Man, I tried this a bunch of times and it never sent any email and just stared at me pretty blankly. Until I realized the problem is that your site doesn't except "+" characters in emails and then fails silently entirely, leaving me the exp

I like it-- just a few more bugs to work out. I did a search (for my wife) of "Tori Amos honey" and it took a solid minute to return anything. Created an account and the playlist I saved there. Cool stuff. Heh, nice touch with it saying "We

Yeah, clearly they can record it-- it just wouldn't be nearly as convenient to capture it.

I was discussing this with a friend. I think I'd like it better if it only allowed you to record an audio note that is erased as it is played. The current message is a little too easy to capture with copy/paste and thus makes it easier for

It's interesting to see how much a primary color (cyan in this case) affects people's initial reaction to things. I think if the UI looked more like this when they first saw it, no one would have really given it much thought: http://screen

Better than that in a sense. Seems to use a mixture of modern texture design, simulated bump-mapping, etc. So it's closer to modern games in terms of tricks, so the overall quality is hard to compare with older games. I think I'd have to sa

I'm always a little surprised at comments like this regarding a software/technology acquisition. This sort of thing is rarely about whether or not they "can" reproduce the technology, but how much value it would be for them to have versus t

You should give it a shot. It does give you more power than a traditional IDE. The as-you-type search thing is genius usability for a tool like this and I'd expect to see it in Visio and the like as soon as they see how well it works. Innov

This is a cool idea. We had our fun with image hackery with featurelist. A lot of users discuss things on forums, etc, where they can't post javascript/flash, so we created little banners like this so users can get other people to vote for

I'm personally more concerned with keeping CS as a study of the science of computing rather than adapting it to improve the job prospects of students. My feeling is that really so many people going into CS aren't looking to study the scienc

You can use MediaWiki and add Semantic MediaWiki extension to get something closer to what you want. We use this a lot and get all sorts of structured data (with RDFs, etc) when we need it, but freeform data around it.
