You don't need to be a developer to understand or use regex. I use regex on a daily basis as I have to deal with a lot of text manipulation. --edit I am not a developer.

Agreed, anyone who has touched PCI DSS would agree you need to associate access with a human user. This would not work. If you look at the security logs it won't differentiate between which keys were used for that generic account.

Seems like excessive dependencies for such a simple tool. Could probably build such a tool in SQLite and bash just as well.

I am a tmux advocate and you can get screen based hot keys if you need but it feels cleaner and it's also under a BSD licence.

Actually I would run ss over the netstat for such high concurrency connection as netstat hits /proc/net/tcp and it's quite slow. However, you need to have the tcp_diag module loaded otherwise it falls back to /proc/net/tcp.

Interesting, though only Debian support for the clients at the moment. I will begin porting that over to RPM based systems later on tonight. Starting with CentOS.

strace is the Daddy of debugging especially when you can attach it to an already existing program using it's PID. I have solved so many permissions errors problems with strace where the application itself just failed without logging anythin
