I have a hard time seeing Diaspora overtaking Facebook or G+ for that matter, especially with the former becoming more entrenched with site authentication. Certainly, success is subjective but I think the expectations for Diaspora was to be

I think it depends. I'm used to looking at very visual samples in a grid format because it allows for more large images to be shown in a row. Things like furniture, clothing, templates... For things that require some text descriptions (such

Starbucks in San Bruno is 24 hours and has free wifi. Only drawback is it's really hard to find a seat in the evening as there's a bunch of students studying.

Meh. Google maps UI is by far better than Yahoo maps. That and the street view/bike maps/etc. are features that give it a nice edge over alternatives.

The UI is definitely not enjoyable but I still like the effort and what we have now. It's been a great way to scout places in advance to figure out where I'm going and suitability for renting.

I so wish this were the top comment. That's really the issue for me. Most of the analogies with Apple/Microsoft/Chevy/etc. are flawed because anyone can buy those products. In this case, Cloudant not only accepted a partnership with Monsant
