This is a repost of some advice I've offered here before, but doing them really helped me out. Outside of seeing a doctor to see if there's something seriously screwed up with your back, I'd offer these 3 pieces of advice I had to learn abo

This looks cool. Is anyone using this? Mind sharing your thoughts? I'm getting ready to do a site redesign and this might be right up my alley.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I really appreciate your insight on this. I've found a copy of "The Underachiever Method" online and plan on checking it out. Thanks!

I Googled a bit and the "underachiever method" seems to be 1.) Pick niche 2.) Put up survey finding out what questions people most want answered in niche. 3.) Use Adwords to bring people to survey. 4.) After you've collected results, write

First, as always, congratulations on launching and getting something out the door. I think that's one of the hardest things to do, so kudos to you for getting something out there. I kinda like this idea though I'm not sure I'd pay $9.99 a

Slightly OT here, but F@W is one of my all-time favorites. I found it very inspiring and informative. I remember reading somewhere that Jessica Livingston might be working on a sequel. Does anyone know if there's any truth to this?

This is spam. I read HN in hopes of finding new and interesting topics that were thoughtfully considered and submitted by other HN members. I don't read HN to read InfoWorld articles blindly submitted by an IW employee. If I wanted that

I loved this post because it spoke directly to the difficulty my software developer brain has wrapping itself around marketing. The answer to almost any marketing question is "it depends" and getting to the "right" answer for your situation

I'm currently using a combination of GA and StatCounter. I use SC to see what's going on in real-time and use GA for long-term trend analysis. As someone else mentioned, the downside of real-time is that you have to constantly sit and refr

It feels like we're talking about two different things in your two posts. In the first, I thought you were saying "people have been assholes to me before but I learned to deal with it because they were giving me feedback that I ultimately

I don't regard that type of behavior as a strength at all. There are also lots of people who do great work that are not complete assholes in person. They have the same intolerance for crappy work and same ability to give feedback as assh

Good read. This reminds me of the "start with the end in mind" philosophy that David Allen espouses in Getting Things Done. His point is that your brain is much better at starting from the end and working your way back, though that's not
