Importantly, the widescreen ones always have post-processing to convert from the SD resolution to the resolution of the tube, they aren't like PC monitors where they switch resolutions. This adds about as much input lag as a modern hdt

This still holds up too. My mom is using my ipad air, which is now about 5 years old. Current software, runs smoothly, no complaints

Yep, it's my backup/testing device. It actually runs surprisingly great, i'd say it's still a better experience than an equivalent-aged android phone honestly, even like a nexus 6

Anyone doing this would be opening themselves up to a world of liability, and probably a lot of customers who would say no. I know my work is dumping older ipads even though all our integrated software for meetings etc works fine just becau

As someone who tested this extensively, it really needs to be treated like a major OS upgrade on a computer . Back up important info(pictures, etc) without using icloud, do a full format(DFU restore), and reinstall from scratch. I have an

These still have crappier panels and features(HDR, etc) than the smart models though. You literally cannot buy a top-spec "display", like you used to be able to in the mid/late 2000s with plasma and earlier LCDs

This isn't entirely true, and only applies to really old versions of iOS like 6, on truly old devices(ipad 1, iphone 4, etc). I just installed some new applications on my ipad 3 running iOS 9 this weekend with no issues. It grabbed t

electric cars depreciate ridiculously fast right now. I can buy a couple year old leaf with really low miles for $5000 right now in seattle, and i have tons of choices. Even the up-range models from the past years are under 10k. This also a

This is a huge crap sandwich if you need to use 32 bit version of pro apps(especially pro audio apps, in my case) to use sometimes expensive plugins that aren't compatible with the 64 bit version of the software, or aren't without

Have you tried a clean install(IE: DFU mode restore, set up as new phone)? That's resolved it on 3 devices for me. Literally zero issues now

I really loved mine. The screen was actually fine, the main issue was that it used a Z series atom, with a powerVR gpu cribbed from early smartphones and absolutely abysmal performance. The screen was high quality, the system just couldn&#x

What made the vaio killer was that it's super wide width allowed for an almost-normal keyboard(think 12in powerbook or old ibm X series, not some super micro thing like very small japanese laptops usually have). I wanted to love the po

the issue is the amount of dirt it takes to cause issues is extremely small. i've seen machines that were only used on a desk in a clean work space, and never even removed from that desk develop issues within a few months. meanwhile, i

Judging by Apples track record for supporting iMacs, i don't see this as an issue. I owned a 2007 imac until 2014 and it was still getting updates . It was running the latest version of OSX until 10.11 This machine launched with, as i

Worth noting these were pushing very close to if not true 1080i on the final models with 1000~ lines of vertical res, when most LCD or plasmas were doing 1024x768(yep, non square pixels), or even 800x480. Only the REALLY expensive ones were
