Can we just limit web APIs to cookies and the likes as before? I don’t like how JavaScript has access to so many devices on the host. It’s a security and privacy nightmare.

They ran fiber down the street connecting to the street my grandparents are on, but didn’t go down theirs. But of course they’ll gladly charge more for “up to” 50mbit when it’s only 25 on a good day. They’re all criminal.

Lately I’ve been noticing captchas have been increasingly difficult day by day on Firefox. Checking the box use to go through without issue, but now it’s been starting to pop up challenges with the boxes that fade after clicking. Just like

I had to use a bleeding edge live mint ISO yesterday because the regular release ISO gave me a black screen on my 3099z. Nvidia drivers continue to be my #1 Linux paint point aside from windows apps that don’t run on wine due to DRM/an

I get the opposite effects on google. As an example, I tried to search for the documentation on watcom’s wasm assembler. It kept giving me results for web assembly no matter how I modified the query nor the Boolean search operators. To me i

Comcast lobbied so hard to get our local mileage for fiber expansion voted down. When it passed, they suddenly decided they’re going to spend 6 figures worth of money to expand their own fiber backdown (they’re not even to the house). Its a

Spam increased exponentially after the 3rd party kill switch. There was profound options for bots to add to your mod list to help combat spam, repost accounts, and more. They existed before the whole 3rd party fallout, but it does not even

Then they can use the same content filters they demonetize channels for to filter out the gross, deceptive, and outright scam ads. But I haven’t seen any initiative for that to happen on googles end.

As soon as the copilot garbage was installed on my computer without asking , I made sure to quickly update group policies and registry to disable it. Just yesterday it popped up the dialog asking me to try out copilot again. Just another ca

It’s not just appliances, it’s even common household items too. Someone disassembled a portable toothbrush that died within some months vs the many years of the one that died before. The original one had what looked like a custom/in ho

Yeah I’ll pass on games that essentially want to install spyware only to be forced always online anyways. Never have to deal with that issue on indie games.

My current jobsite still uses vista era laptops with 4GB of memory, a battery that dies within minutes if not plugged in, and a painfully slow spindle drive. A 3 year old computer would be a luxury here.
