Agreed -- the G3 is the best Android phone I've owned in my 6 years of owning Android devices, and will be the first one I use until it doesn't work anymore, as opposed to upgrading on the 2 year cycle.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm personally a fan of the style, and like explicitly seeing where the fault points in functions are, rather than having to memorize what exceptions might get thrown by what. But it can definitely cover many complex sit

I'm sure there are good uses for it, but I personally haven't found one yet. I mostly use Go's multiple return values to also return errors -- and that's really like using checked exceptions in Java. So whether it's

Java also can't beat Go's concise syntax. Even compared to writing in IntelliJ, an awesome IDE for saving keystrokes, I relish the simplicity and brevity of Go code.

It's absolutely valuable if Mac / OS X is your first and only computing environment. But the hurdle comes when you work in multiple desktop environments, and everything else works similarly enough except for your Mac.

The point is that within these smartphone apps, there are often consumption and production elements. E.g. on Instagram, the app opens to a stream of activity (consumption). You have to tap a button to start to produce something. Compared to

Do you use these tools more on your phone than your computer? Genuine question.

My point was that most apps on the App Store / Google Play (and therefore most of the ones you probably have installed) are heavily consumption-focused -- not that these utilities don't exist.

Of course; my point wasn't that these don't exist. Each device has its own strengths, and smartphones are really good consumption devices. I'd never build an entire application on a touchscreen phone, but I'd absolutely
