Building a solid structure is a high skill job! Not as complex as building an application but definitely comparable. I think some people fail to understand how hard it is to be a good contractor. Just like software engineering it requires a

This is basically saying they posted credentials and login information that allowed you to change the recovery email of any account a slack channel. That is unbelievably sloppy on Twitter's part. Not acceptable at a tiny company. I wou

Are you just guessing? I don't see anyone reporting this. I also highly doubt normal Twitter employees can impersonate any users. I would seriously hope it's less than 100 people with the DB or server access necessary to tweet as

I say just the opposite. Let's remove the blue checks and make it difficult to know who's legit and who's impersonating people again. Twitter is used way too seriously. I know that's the opposite of what Twitter as a com

But can't you specifically wire the indicator light to always be lit if the camera has power? I don't see Apple claiming they've done that but a correct design would make the indicator light work that way and be related to so

JUST STOP CHANGING THE UI FOR NO REASON! You wouldn't re-write a whole app without a very solid engineering reason. But site after site re-does their UI without any stated reason. For companies I've worked for we did new UI design

I think you misunderstand. Changes for changes sake are negative for users. The last thing you want to do is change something that was working for users without giving them anything for it. However a lot of actively developed software today

I was 100% behind the initial lockdowns. We had next to no testing and we were seeing disturbing surges. We needed to lockdown to get a handle on what was going on. But now we know what's going on and we don't seem to have a goal

I think this idea that white collar jobs require college is generally wrong. The core of the issue is that colleges produce degrees instead of people capable of doing specific jobs. If you want education for education's sake this is fi

It's also very normal for viruses to become more mild over time. We strongly react to strong threats. It's in the viruses interest to become a weaker threat like the common cold so we tolerate it instead of actively fighting it.
