In a senate that's split 50-50, Joe Manchin has exactly as much power as every other Senator. Right now he's just the only one willing to use it.

It's not such an easy decision. Sure if you have more reps, each constituent arguably has more access. The flip side is that they have more access to a less powerful rep. If you had 10,000 people in congress, sure it'd be a lot ea

Yes, this would impact the next election cycle, occurring in 2022, and the effects would first be seen in the congress sworn in in January of 2023. The states with changes in seats are responsible for the redistricting. What this means in p

This is my experience too. People, including myself initially, vastly underestimate the impact of a language barrier and time zone issues. I'm not in charge of how we hire where I work, but if I were, I'd happy trade 5 Asia-based

I don't see the point of this. You already have a ubiquitous, easy-to-learn, high-level language that's great for data science, it's called python. If you're a JavaScript developer who wants to get into data science but

It's becoming more and more of a struggle to find basic things that aren't "smart". I can't stand it. Most things in our world do not benefit by being able to run software and connect to the internet. Or, if we'

Yes, most U.S. universities require a broad range of subjects outside of one's chosen major. This is a good thing in my book. You have your whole life to develop an ever-narrowing level of specialization.

The technology behind this vaccine has been actively worked on for over a decade. Yes, these vaccines have been sent to market faster than normal, but they certainly have not been "rushed".

That's typically that way I've seen it used. You can't put in a formal applicant eval, "So-and-so is an a--h--- who you couldn't pay me enough to work with".
