I think that missed the point. Engineers are applied scientists. Programmers are not applied scientists.

The primary fear is getting kicked off because Apple said so. The fees might suck, but the concern is spending a year on an app only to be denied or lose it once you gain popularity.

Calling programmers "Engineers" is a misnomer. I wish programmers had the prestige it deserved for combining Science, tradition, authority, and art. Engineers are not allowed to use tradition, authority or art. They are restricted

Meanwhile this leaves an opportunity for a different company to provide these services. I do my best to avoid FAANG giants who don't think about me.

Doesn't surprise me Apple chose the laziest solution. Not like their customers care.

Disclaimer, I love Ubuntu server. I hate that Linux philosophy for a daily driver. I remember being age 16, 17,18,19 23,26, and 27 and being told to figure it out. Every time I'm vastly more fluent and the community is just as unhelpfu

Depends on the program. Also computing power increases with time, so this is a silly reason to kill off a feature.

Security is the major reason. I can imagine spinning up a virtual machine to use legacy flash content.

Yesterday I was asked for my email for a fresh install of Windows 10. This immediately enraged me and I considered Linux. I couldn't help but to consider Apple. But Apple is worse, they started the trend of collecting your information

The fantasy that capitalism would punish businesses for treating employees poorly or people would stop buying low quality products is disappearing. Marketing tricks are the most important thing in the business world as shown by Tesla, Jeep,

I'm only half kidding when I say Apple doesn't consider themselves a US company. They consider them Apple. It's not like they are cooperative like US automakers, and they have done China's will.

After working with graduates from "the best university", I doubt it is "the best". After using "the best" search engine, and finding what I needed on Bing instead, I started doubting it was "the best"

Just curious, why don't you have a spam email in 2020? I have over 20 email addresses and only use 3 daily/phone notifications. Not defending the practice, but I'm genuinely curious why this is a deal breaker.

Microsoft already lost this battle. Google has decided not to fight the battle. Apple has their segment walled in like North Korea. Tesla uses religion to control their followers.

Luck/Fortune is so critical. Genetics and net worth can be blown away by a good or bad group of friends. And unfortunately you start having friends before you are concious enough to realize the impact.

It's a marketing tactic. The goal is to be unaffordable, this way people create goals to buy it and show off to their friends. This has been Apple's marketing since the 2000s. The product quality is secondary to the price. Even th
