YES. I'm sorry, but I like my pasta floppy please. The sheer bloated feeling I get after eating an otherwise perfectly prepared dish is nothing to joke about.

If you have the financial stability, go test yourself in academic research. Many biology labs are desperate for informaticians, and you don't need to be an expert in the topics

We're inching close to Asimov's Solaria [0] world, where private armies of robots do all the work, the scant humans never meet, preferring to use video calls that set up holographic environments which seamlessly blend the backgro

As a Brit dating an Italian, I couldn't agree more. I like to enjoy my coffee, not just drink it for the effects. I will never understand the tiny intense espresso + double sugar combo as a way to finish every meal. I get palpatations

I know that the moment that I have kids, this, all this ( gestures vaguely at the mess that is my intense hobbyist life ) comes to an end. Unfortunately every time the opportunity has presented itself, I've run away; scared to abandon

Horrible advice: find a way to blend your work with your interests so that you no longer understand where your core work hours start and the obsessiveness begins. Do this for > 12 hours a day, every day, holidays included. Tell your love

OH! Oh god, I did not see that. I've been ricing my CV for a few months now. Highlighted STAR stories and projects to show my experience as a Software Dev / SysAdmin / Data Analyst / Matrix manager, made skill charts of

That's a really good question. Right now I'm making £55k, which is not terrible money, but it's way less than my industry peers are making whilst doing arguably less. I actually don't know how quickly my pay will scale i

Anecdote: when my dad was a child, one of the main coffee machines in the entire village required the slow work of a donkey attached to crankshaft to grind the beans. One day, someone decided to mechanize this process, and attached it to a

(hostility aside...) I never said my work was perfect, but that I do take delight in polishing work that is more than passable. I can't be the only one here who likes to optimize their work in their free time.
