Caste system doesn't seem to be a reason. People here just want shortest way for something, not much ethical considerations or whatever. People study CSE mostly because it pays well, despite having literally no interest in this. People

Bullshit. Not just Brahmins are responsible for caste system and all. Now that Brahmin vote bank is literally smallest, every other community gets benefits from government, while Brahmins do not. Some people like to hate on Brahmins. It is

IITs were a thing. Now getting an IIT is purely a matter of practice. The entrance exams suck, and are susceptible to coaching.

It seems many comments in this thread don't get the point. The "Premature Optimization is Root of all Evil" is about juvenile low level optimizations that sacrifice code readability. They don't give high perf gains eithe

It reminds me my experiments to get a debian rootfs running on a plain Android terminal emulator without something like termux. I remember I used LD_PRELOAD along with fakechroot and fakeroot packages to get most things working. Those days&

Plus ublock origin can save a lot of data. I am on a slow university network and I keep JavaScript off by default using UBO. It takes 3 clicks to enable it for sites that really need it, but web is much faster with it.

IMO Lisp is just overrated, it lacks visual clues, reads right to left with horrible nesting etc.. Sure it has some good concepts. But fanboys on internet make it seem like some God tier thing.

Yes, in short - users & groups serve as a rudimentary implementation of capabilities. Best example is Android. But there's more to it. Separating admin user from non admin user always has advantages and I do it even on Windows.

I think you entirely ignored the performance cost of dynamism (not having types known, not having value types, dynamic binding of methods etc..) that is handy 1% of the time but imposes type safety & performance cost other 99% of the ti
