A lot of customization options too - size and theme, number row or not, arrows or not, include accents in long-press menus, etc. But the better predictive text is kind of huge. Makes typing much faster and easier when the predictions are m

I'd go one further. There are plenty of actively harmful donations one could make. As one example, most people would probably feel that way about roughly half of political donations.

I've got a friend who works for a government agency up here in BC, Canada. She's been all remote for years, but they now want her (and everyone else) in the office 2 days a week, likely going up to 3. Problem is, the office is al

I think you're both right. I think generative AI will be like the internet, and we'll experience a 90s-style bubble first, then it will gradually transform everything. Personally though, I've already used it for multiple r

What should be a setting? This specific youtube ambience thing? That is, but it shows the issue - you need to pick a default, and most people won't know they can change it. Having some idea of the capabilities of the device you'

Yeah, there are lots of ways cars could store such settings that wouldn't be cleared when main battery power is disconnected (which is something that regularly needs to be done when the car is serviced). Flash storage would work too.

Good troubleshooting. More of a workaround than a fix, but quite possibly good enough. I do wonder what it would need to work as designed though. Is there a dedicated ECU for the keyless system that that harness connects to?

How much can websites determine about the power of the device they're running on? Obviously it'd be a security issue for them to know too much, but it would be nice to be able to progressively enhance the experience for more powe

For all email. I disagree that marketing email in general is a problem though. Eg. we send a monthly newsletter that is explicitly marketing, but it's opt-in (not opt-out; users need to explicitly choose to receive it), so I'm no

Only way I know of is to pay a company that provides SMTP service and is too big for gmail to ignore. Some have free tiers if your volume is low. I switched my personal domain email over to sendgrid for that reason.

Yep, after over a decade of trying to run independent mail servers we finally broke down and switched to SendInBlue and SendGrid last year. Even if you do everything right, it's just not possible to get gmail to reliably deliver mail

Of course, though perhaps with slightly lower accuracy. Either way, my point was that it's far from an unsolvable problem; it can be trivially solved with existing tools.
