Being blunt isn’t the same as being an asshole imo. Did your manager give any actionable feedback on what you should say instead or what exactly you said that was inappropriate? If not, then your manager is enabling a bad or undertrained em

Truly excited about this one - there are not enough of these games in the genre. I wish they had announced a date but even if they had who knows how accurate it would actually be?

This is really great. I could see myself using this all the time! One minor critical feedback I have is that on dark mode it is very difficult to see the linked sources on the natural language explanation side. The grey is very dark and a b

I always wonder how they actually date things like this. Carbon dating? Something else? Is it obviously apparent to an expert if a manuscript is 800 or 1000 years old? (Additionally, I feel rather foolish that my first thought went to the h

I miss the pre-rendered games too. I’ve been eagerly awaiting Neyyah- it’s indie and made by one guy but it looks so good. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1289720/Neyyah/

Second Star https://secondstargame.com/ Sci-fi game without combat, inspired by games like Myst and Firewatch. Been working on it with friends the last 4 years. I direct the project and compose the music. It costs me around

Same, my wife is a geologist and one of my favorite things is to make her watch cheesy disaster movies with me. The commentary is hilarious.

Love the BG series. Met my wife through the modding community too. Every couple of years I do a replay of the games.

What the cluck? At first I thought this would be the “chicken printer” story I’ve read before but was pleasantly surprised! Peep on clucking on!

Tried the Reverb and was plagued by basic USB issues that stemmed from having an Asus motherboard. Went through many guides and troubleshooting before saying screw it, and returned it for an Index instead. (I use VR in Elite Dangerous and F

Not really. For my PCs I use wallpaper engine or just make sure the background changes frequently. Hide the taskbar and keep the desktop clean. For TVs I typically don’t keep the screen set on a pause screen and turn it off when I’m done,

Definitely a want and not a need but I am an avid gamer and switched to all oled screens in the house. Would never go back. I love immersion in games and the difference between a non oled and an oled is night and day.

When you went through the Odin Project, did you do all the modules? Asking because there's a huge chapter on React that the vanilla JS course helps prepare you for. (To answer your question though - HTML, CSS, and JS are absolutely val

Back in 2013 I had an interview with a large company whose game consoles are very rare to find in stores currently where the guy wanted me to recite JS syntax over the phone. He'd tell me I was incorrect if I didn't say "semi

As someone who just went through the interview epic-quest-with-many-sidequests-and-bonus-missions at a few companies, this hit close to home. I’m happy where I ended up though and it wound up being one of the more reasonable interview proce

I wonder why more companies don’t get behind GIMP as a real alternative to Adobe. I remember Blender getting picked on all the time before it got its big sponsorships. It got a real roadmap and development was done and was greatly improved

I’m an admin of a forum centered around modding some CRPGs of the late 90s. It’ll be 20 years old next year (though I’ve only been part of the admins for a bit over 10). Enhanced editions of these games were released in the 2010s, bringing
