"If you can't protect people's shit, don't offer to hold onto it for money!" If you can't sell a reliable car, don't make one? Products fail sometimes and we in the tech-sphere get to laugh about it. No su

I suspect Apple would buy ARM before NVIDIA would ever get a chance to. That is of course, to protect their own interests as opposed to making it into a successful business in its own right.

Wow the pricing is ridiculous. It's using last year's flagship CPU and has two screens with a hinge. Be interesting to see how it sells but I'm not convinced it's a good buy.

No. I'm talking about local vs remote development. Can you even spin up a webserver on an ipad to run codeserver? Or does it rely on an external webserver to run and build your application. If you know what a thin client is, then you&#

Web IDES have been around forever. They don't qualify as a real IDE. I'm not moving the goal posts. You're making them bigger to fit your needs.

Nor does it in make developers better at their jobs. The point i'm trying to make is if the scope of what a system can do is limited, it's permission boundary/model is easy to define. Many things led to the incorrect provisio

If your microservice only updates billing details on a dynamodb table, it'll never be vulnerable to having someone take over it and stealing all the data from it. It's what I call a micro level permission. The principal/actor

If you're deploying a microservice on an individual ER2 inctance with an instance role, you're doing it wrong. Not sure where you got the idea it was a microservice. Names like a dodgy app server of some kind.

Wow. Just wow. You claim French people aren't taking covid measures seriously, yet you are behaving as a potential human carrier of the virus by travelling abroad. And you have the nerve to complain about people coughing on the plane..

Another reason why microservices are a good thing. They result in micro level permissions for individual resources. In saying that though, k8s in AWS was really shit at limiting what IAM roles containers could assume without it being the in

Well aware of code server. Again if your making a bunch of work around, it gets in the way of actual work. With your rational, I could do development on my phone as a thin client.

Pretty sad to see people touting this as a workaround solution. It's still a workaround - possibly the most basic one for any kind of thin client there is. I want a consistent IDE as well and right now, you can't run vscode proper

I've tried to look for resources around doing any real local development with an ipad pro (a device that's already using apple silicon) and the best advice I've found is basically hacks to get a VM running in digital ocean to

While I agree that he should have some knowledge about the CORS issue, I disagree that it's a backend problem. It's the engineering/architecture problem. There's no reason why you couldn't build a proxy on the same

Ithought so. Full credit to apple then for pioneering this effort. I appreciate some commenters saying the raspberry helped, but really it's apple who are the taking a big step forward with popularising a third player in the CPU space.
