I don't understand how the "head of open source" software can claim that a license which literally begins by saying it is not open source, is in fact open source. You're right gaslighting the community or you're eng

Sentry is one of the rent extracting companies. They want to extract value from the open source community, including marketing value, without actually being open source.

If you look at it from a high level, Sentry wants to have their cake and eat it too. They don't want to promote GPL/AGPL open source development because it's harder for them to profit off of it, but they don't want other

Open Source has always meant without limitations on use. You want to extend the standard to add a limitation on use, which would in turn radically change the definition of open source (to the point where you'd extinguish the current de

It's kind of crappy for you and others at Sentry to attempt to unilaterally change the definition of open source, despite the fact that there clearly is opposition to it.

You should really disclose that you work for Sentry/CodeCov in your comments about this. Being "scheduled for open source in three years" is not the same as being open source today. Keep in mind there is a third option- CodeC
