Agreed: > if your website can't make money without crappy ads, and nobody looks at your crappy ads because of advances in technology, then blaming that technology puts you squarely on the wrong side of history. However, GOOG would f

Thank you. I should have clicked the link before posting. I'd agree that a better option would have been to have an ad network whitelist option to reward those who strive for improving UX. Tough spot to be in.

Can you or anyone else tell me if The Deck ads still track and employ targeting. If they do, then personally I'd consider them still invasive and worth blocking. If not, then I see his point.

The day of reckoning is here for Adtech and UX wins.

Adapt or become irrelevant. Whatever the next model is for publishers, they need to remember that UX will win. - Stop tracking - Stop malverts - Stop overlays - Stop misusing visitor data Start with a good UX and put that first.

It won't break the Internet. Users are telling Publishers what is acceptable. Now it's up to Publishers to change models or serve ads that are not pervasively tracking us, malvertising us and already breaking the Internet.

Agreed, most will probably do nothing that's an inconvenience. It just seems that Windows 10 should be causing us all to leave Windows completely since it is out rightly not respecting users and not even caring about it. Linux time.

If tiles are disabled / opted-out does Firefox cease sending this data to the mothership? I have to admit that as a long time Firefox user, Mozilla's recent product decisions are driving me slowly away.

I'm surrounded by tablets (iPads), but only pick them up when I'm checking out a website layout. Tablets are too limited for me, often missing features or content due to responsive design practices. The mobile web treats them as s

I believe that the growing aversion is toward the pervasive tracking and UX destroying variety of ads. Not all ads have to be that. It's not just an iOS user mentality obviously since ad block usage is increasing across desktops too.
