There's a danger of looking at things from within the tech bubble. Perspective is everything and I'm not convinced mainstream will be so accepting when the privacy concerns gain greater visibility. The same drive that is making ad

We need a privacy structure to somehow protect our contact info residing in devices not our own, but I suspect that's rather challenging and would require a crypto solution. Maybe, I'm just describing a *nym form of messaging and

There are plenty of documented examples of Facebook leaking data due to code changes, bugs, poor QA, or simply not thinking through the details. Good UX also should not fall back on, "We had your permission" when a company has suc

I'm one of those exploring elsewhere. Twitter today feels even more dysfunctional as a company. The pursuit to become algo driven and Facebooky reached its limit for me with the new link previews which fundamentally transform the Twitt

I get why email senders do it, but it does create unnecessary UX friction. Yes, I dislike it too.

The Twitter link previews are even worse than I thought live. Almost every tweet in the timeline contains photos, redundant content and truncated content. The smaller photos also stand in contrast to the normal sized photos forcing the eyes

So only firehose agreements get data? What's the impact to general SEO or 3rd parties? Doesn't sound good.

Having worn hats in both PM and QA roles I do agree that a PM should know their product well. However, as a user, I see way too many bugs damage the UX as a result of not having dedicated QA resources. A solid QA team or person can make the

I don't use Siri, but if Siri had a cool name like Moneypenny, I'd surely use it - bugs and all. "Miss Moneypenny, call Q." However, since this is from Facebook, I still won't use it - cool name or not - out of priv

I wonder if iOS 9 and the increasing usage of Ad Blockers in general will make a dent in Google's ad revenue and give GOOG more reason to pause?

I think you have the right solution. I whitelist any site that takes this approach. If everyone did this, ad-tech would be forced to change and publishers would benefit from visitors who appreciate the efforts and better UX. The web could a

I wonder if the math is a bit fuzzy and skewed toward the current ad model though? The ad industry is amock IMO and unfortunately publishers are paying the price. Maybe Pando has enough loyal subscribers who will pay their subscription fee,

Pando, like so many publishers, doesn't understand what the market will bear - or how to deliver solid UX. Although I'm curious how that paywall is working out, I doubt it's doing very well. Many visitors have probably replac

It's awesome seeing so many privacy and secure messaging apps spring up. The tough part is getting people to use them. I've been using Wickr (I know the black box arguments, but they have a reasonable bounty in place) and it doesn
