It's nothing compared to something like the B2 bomber which cost $40+ billion to develop and each one costs over $700 million. We built 20 of them. (they are still pretty awesome cold war relics though) edit: Or Nimitz class nuclear

What about a kickstarter for $3000 or so? Enough money to run the site for 10 months and see if there is enough interest to keep it going. Not so much money that it's impossible to raise from small donations over the course of a mont

Good luck getting your users to come back and trust you after a major security incident that compromises their systems. I would turn it around and think of it this way, is it worth giving up some profit to help ensure you don't have e

As a counterpoint I bought a car for about $3000 4 years ago and have put a bit over 40k miles on it. Maintenance, insurance, registration, etc. have added up to about $7k (you don't need full coverage insurance on a $3k car). Fuel c

Not to mention since the car is paid off/owned outright the calculation doesn't take into account the price of the car. I would wager a majority of car owners are financing or leasing their cars and pay a monthly cost to do so.

Yeah this scrolling seemed kind of bad to me, I got halfway down and had to use a lot of force to proceed. I'm looking forward to this gimmick going away.

Yeah I would definitely go for a nicer IPS display vs. a larger TN one. I switch between a cheap TN monitor and nice IPS MacBook display a lot and the IPS display is so much easier on the eyes. The TN panel looks really harsh, especially

What a weird article, it spends more time describing links to the science than the actual solution. Is this some new form of scheming/optimizing search engine rank by quoting and linking a lot of tangentially related academic topics?

I feel like there's more to this story than what the article and charts show. For example, what's the total number of PhD students over time? Has there been an increase in PhD students relative to demand so that naturally there

Housing costs don't really make it practical in WA to put away $4k/month when you're pulling in $6-7k/month after taxes. A mortgage on any decent-ish place is going to be around $2500-$3500+ a month. If you just bought
