What about a kickstarter for $3000 or so? Enough money to run the site for 10 months and see if there is enough interest to keep it going. Not so much money that it's impossible to raise from small donations over the course of a month either.
- boyter 12y agoHas that worked for any largeish webapps at all? I'm especially curious as I would like to do something like this for searchcode. The costs aren't too high but since it has no revenue stream it would help keep things going even if my personal costs suddenly went up and something had to go.
