I don't really agree with the article's argument that it's so bad if this or that group becomes wealthy. The government can easily solve that through taxation if it so chooses. I think the more important piece of information

If you bought the asset before like 2010 they don't have cost basis info. Believe it or not people sell assets bought in like 1970 and report that on their tax forms. Full automation is a ways away...

Yes but if you've been happily spending 4%, which turns into 8% because the market is down 50%, do the math on that.

From the article: "... the same model he has idling outside with a driver, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, wherever he is in the world." What? He has someone sitting outside in a running car while he sleeps? If true, t

The thing that really impresses/surprises me about the growth of services like these is that people have so much disposable income to pay for stuff like this. In the news one reads constantly about how people are stressed financially.

I watched the video. My Nissan has lane-keeping and it does exactly the same thing as in this video. My impression is it's because it follows the left lane line when it's not sure.

A company can be doing well and have its stock massively overvalued at the same time.

The same exact thing happened in 1999 and 2000. It's because of the bubble. When it pops, these schools will be extra-competitive for a few years while going through the heaps of applications from failed startups.

If I give you a 3 billion dollar investment, it's not hard to create a billion dollar company with that.

I realize the plural of "anecdote" is not "data," but more than once I've watched 20-something women spend hours on end swiping through Instagram and commenting on photos. One particular time I sat on a train in Eur

Instagram is very successful. But, I think people shouldn't lose sight of the fact that it's turned a substantial fraction of our teenage and 20-something population essentially into zombies. I believe it is a significant social n

Here's how I think it should work: You can get capital gains treatment on returns on investments in a given year which don't exceed 20% a year compounded annually. This would apply whether or not the taxpayer has realized the gain
