I have a hard time understanding why I would want to waste my time watching something generated by AI when they clearly didn't value the time spent making it. I have a limited lifespan, I'm not going to use that to consume slop.

Arc Raiders and The Finals got some controversy lately for using AI voice acting. Those games don't have any "normal" vocal performances.

Do yourself a favor and contact the social security administration for a replacement card. It's a lot easier to get it now and keep it somewhere safe then be screwed when you suddenly need it for a second form of ID.

Real ID is a series of annoying steps that you need to go through to get a star on your license. People that haven't "upgraded" to Real ID are the noncompliant ones.

Yes the pricing for W4 consoles is below paying for Unity Pro. There's also a free, MIT licensed Switch exporter, but it's in the Nintendo developer forums because of the NDAs.

Secure boot and let the game attest the boot state. It would restrict you to a series of whitelisted kernels, probably from major distributions, but it's better than the current situation.

I've had a pretty opposite experience. I was able to get an old adventure game (Titanic: Adventure out of Time) working just fine on Wine and it refuses to run on modern Windows. If Wine doesn't work I'll run it in 86box.

Another GitLab self-hosting user here, we've run it on Kubernetes for 6 years. It's never gone down for us, maybe an hour of downtime yearly as we upgrade Postgres to a new version.

Bazzite is just Fedora Kinoite with some tweaks for gaming, like automatically including Nvidia drivers. I've joined the Kinoite kult since it's much easier to deal with an atomic system.

https://bazzite.gg/ Should work out of the box, no configuration needed. The only caveat is games with kernel based anti-cheat, but I don't play many of those. Arc Raiders works just fine, for example.

That's fair but Debian is shipping you multi year old packages when you want the latest drivers and mesa for games. Bazzite has those, and you can just jump into a Debian Distrobox for development.
