This predates that, the patent is from 2009. The Reddit thread is from 2020.

This seems like a Docker issue more than a GitLab issue. We run ours in GKE, so the infrastructure is managed and auto scales.

I've been using Apple products for almost 30 years (good ol' System 7.5) but this absolute bullshit of user hostility has made me switch to a Pixel 6 most recently. The App Store, the Lightning connector, two huge hassles that onl

I've seen the Toast app clip pop up a few times when paying for dinner with a QR code. Seems like a neat idea and lets me avoid installing a whole app.

I think Electron won out because Microsoft kept pulling the rug out from under Windows developers as they went from Win32, to Windows.Forms, to WPF, to UWP, to WinUI 3. Why take the risk on the most modern Windows framework when you could j

I've been the owner of our ~90 user GitLab deploy and its been mostly painless over the past two years, we have it installed on an autoscaling GKE cluster subscribed to the 'stable' channel. I helm upgrade it monthly.

The preferred method of launching an app on GNOME is hitting the super key, typing the first few letters of its name, and hitting enter to launch it. Regarding minimizing apps, etc, GNOME classic is available for a MATE-style experience, bu

It's not dumb, but it's dumb with what offices have become. Nobody likes the open plan office, but if I had my own office (with a door!!!) then I'd certainly go in every day. Maybe it's time to re-imagine what the office

When I see one of these cars in South Boston (narrow streets with street parking) during the winter (piles of snow everywhere), I'll believe they're a reality. Until then, they'll remain 90% of the way there.

I gave it a shot last night and selected three topics: Comedy, Pets, Science and Technology. It gave me a lot of garbage. Maybe it requires much more frequent use than the 10 minutes I gave it, or it somehow infers a good jumping off point.

GNOME seems to take more Mac cues, as someone that grew up on (and has always used) Macs I feel like GNOME fits me better. It's also designed to be very keyboard navigable. I think that's okay, KDE and GNOME can coexist and approa

In Massachusetts, access to this telemetry by local repair shops is required by our new right-to-repair law. Some manufactures have made a fuss, but hopefully other states follow.
