Outed as being confused? How is this a problem again? What if a straight kid googled 'gay marriage' just to see what the link on HN was all about and someone saw it? For shame! The horror!! What if a velociraptor that's al

Awesome work! Would be neat to adapt this idea to show a realtime visual 'map' of a project as you're working on it. Watching your commits/merges as well as others' while they're happening could even be usefu

That's true, but without the backers (or some kind of funding) the project wouldn't come to fruition at all. It may feel like preordering, but it's not and that's important to remember.

My thoughts exactly while reading the article. I also wondered if allegations against Huawei were falsified (assuming they were) not because they posed a security threat from the Chinese government, but because they would make it more diffi

I've not had a chance to try it out, shame that it's not as good as it could be. All the more reason to market it effectively :)

It's not that people hate eating, not at all, it's just inconvenient in many ways. Something like Soylent solves the problem of convenience and allows a person to take in nutrients while remaining productive. It's not for ev

I'm not sure about this. I think Samsung is doing well because they have great products for fair prices, but I'm continually let down by their marketing. They could take a page from Apple in this dept. Example: Their Smart TV c

I'm sorry about your experience, it wasn't my intention to be flippant about the disease, but rather to point out that people's paranoia is often misdirected.

Seems like much ado. If I was bitten by a tick (or twenty, as has happened before) I would pull it off and flick it, then immediately forget about the whole thing. Do you see a doctor after every time you get into a car? Because that is f

All too true. Hopefully these tools we've been able to build and refine over the years will help lead to further advancements in 'green' computing.

Exactly this. It may start with "rich" people, but eventually can become the norm. There are so many examples to support this, I think it should be enough to just mention the personal computer.

Watching old people stumble over so much jargon is rough. Not because it makes them sound ignorant, but because I know that it muddles the message for people who need to get it.

You are arguing about what shows up on the NSA's radar that causes them to go searching, I'm talking about limiting what they can easily find. You're right about Broadwell's actions triggering the investigation, I'

I guess the point I'm making is there is no obscurity to be gained by throwing your actions in with a pool of others' because it is all itemized and catalogued. So what's better? A detailed account of everything you did, or

I am definitely on the side which thinks comparing purchases to a daily cup of coffee is bad. It evokes negative associations in me and I have to assume that it will in others, so it's not good marketing. I understand what they're trying t
