The reason why they can make Android close source but not the kernel used is because the former is has ASF 2.0 while the later has GPL license. This is why they are developing their own kernel.

Maybe I'm not enough of an Apple fanboy but using work provided mac with firefox for 15 years I never noticed UI being disjointed from the system any more than Chrome.

Actually it is still cool if they don't. Because of their enshitification we do have alternatives that were developed. At this point the their only services I'm using are Maps, Translate and Keep Notes and it is mostly due to lazy

I despise that too. One website (was it walmart?) gives me option to use that or a password, I select password and after entering it it tells me that it needs to verify my e-mail "for security" where I get link or code to log in.

Honestly I think it already is. A lot of people who talk about massive gains seem to forget about code review. Then in a company someone who has to review is is f*cked because that code is much more complex and takes much longer to review.

The way things work is that if the judge oversteps you appeal, but you are still bound by the ruling unless higher court overrides it. You can't just say you don't like the ruling and ignore it.
