Genuinely curious - How does this save space? If the input was real, the first operation (inside the fft call) makes it complex, which doubles the storage space. Sure the output is real again, but the intermediate storage was 2x the input a

As a HW guy this seems insane to me. Just because it's hard to do doesnt mean you can't randomise and try to create and catch failures. Might not catch 100%, but better than not trying. HW testing pre silicon is impressively comp

Andreas kling of serenityOS uses clion, and makes good use of its features. He's an awesome programmer, and no doubt proficient in vim if he needs to be, but seeing him interact with the IDE does shown its use, especially with the spee

Yes, the name imaginary does it no favours. I was confused for so long about i, as it was never explained on classes, and it wasn't until 3blue1brown and other math youtubers showed me the light. I really like this series on it by Welc

That's interesting, thanks. I would have assumed Window_server would be a common issue cpu on all platforms, is that not the case? If so do you know if disabling 3d acceleration could help etc?

1.3v blows me away, at 7nm transistors were typically using 0.8v due to oxide breakdown at high voltages. I wonder how they can run at 1.3v and not kill those tiny transistors gates. Dynamic power being proportional to voltagr squared will

I think this mix of processes is testament to the fact analog is not scaling, and high speed IO has a lot of analog/phys. So having an IOD on 3nm would cost more and probably consume similar power, at least for the phys. Of course you

I always thought that proving a multiplier is correct is an interesting problem. Sure you can check an 8 bit one with all combos, and then scale up the algorithm to more bits, but proving a given implementation doesn't have a bug in on

Believe me, chip designers care more about power now than they did then. Back in the larger process nodes when you moved to the next node the voltage scaled also, and as power is proportional to voltage squared, power went down. It was the

At those prices I'd definitely be doing it myself with 'direct labour'. It's amazing no company has come in with installs for 20k, there would be loads of profit still, and they would get many more customers. It's i

As posted above, for a 6.4kp major raw material cost, retail, is 6.5k. 14 450w panels at 200ea (2.8k), inverter at 1.6k, battery at 2.1k, is 6.5k. Some roofing mounts etc needed too, but that's a few hundred at most. So unless labour i

Mine is rooftop and was installed professionally. One days work for 2 roofers and 1 electrician, not exactly a huge labour cost, surely. Raw material cost is about 6k (inverter, panels, battery) so at 9k that's 3k for one days install.

The meeting rooms don't have docks, they have hdmi only, one for videoconf TV, another one for the projector. Should the room have 2 docks, one for each? Why cant a 2 to 3k laptop just offer the ports they used to.
