What if the politics in question concern work? I'd love to live in the society you (apparently) live in where work and the rest of reality apparently don't interact with each other at all.

I suspect the main reason it's difficult is because of the individualistic nature of western nations. In a society where people live with multiple generations of family raising children is probably much, much easier. Add to this the fa

I disagree with most of the advice here. There's only one thing you need to be able to do: buy the "Elements of Programming Interviews" and be able to solve any problem in it within 30 minutes. Cracking the Coding Interview&#

When has an average American been severely and personally harmed from surveillance? If you can't answer that without caveats then you have no chance of convincing her in my opinion. In other words, you have to prove that the harms of s

One thing you should learn is how to answer these types of questions on your own -- you'll be doing it a lot once you begin your career (searching "how to code" would yield a lot of useful results). As for your question: A fe

I'm not sure how this would work in practice. Thoughts are incredibly noisy. Any mechanism that could filter out the noise basically can decipher intent. I'd argue intent deciphering is the actual problem trying to be solved by th

There's a lot to digest in this article: 1) Absentee landlords are terrible. I can't say I know what the solution is, but perhaps simply lowering the price of the houses until the (low income) workers could afford to buy and the

Why does anyone have to change anything? If a site decides to allocate resources towards content vs. speed is that so bad?

I don't see the point of AMP. Why not just give certain sites a little icon/preference if they're faster than XXXms? Glad to see this letter says as much.

I don't see how anyone could complain about this. Companies will simply create more titles and then better illustrate the skills needed to be promoted.

This is a great question -- I think the jury is still out on this one. Someone will eventually figure out the right set of incentives, in the right quantities, targeted to the right groups that'll make it work, though.

You're focusing too much on the amount of time, but fine. I'm going to assume you're 30. 15 minutes for a 5 years old is at least 90 minutes for a 30 year old. Would you wait an hour and a half for a marshmallow? I'm g
