At least in my major US metro, only the electric utility can toggle their service on/off remotely. Water and gas services have a digital meter but still need a physical action by a human service worker to turn them on/off.

TX has a mismanaged power grid with no interconnects to load share by choice, how does that apply to the rest of the US? CA’s problems aren’t demand driven. I live in a state that gets almost its entire gasoline supply from a single pipelin

The UK is an oddball now -- VAT-free shopping for non-UK citizens ended in 2021. You can still do it in (most?) EU member states though.

A 4 year old device on a different CPU architecture. The Mac Pro wasn’t a device aimed at developers, it was aimed at creatives. This title is grandstanding.

Ford has been known to send corp engineers to dealerships to help diagnose and resolve recurring issues in specific vehicles (has happened to a coworker of mine, and the engineer did end up fixing the issue!) -- I wouldn't entirely dou

That's not really an option for almost anyone with a mortgage on a home -- the lender will require home insurance with themselves listed as the primary payee. Same with an auto loan for most lenders (Lightspeed being one of the abnor

I haven't seen a particularly great explanation that explains why this is such a positive discovery that is copy/paste/digestable. No MSM outlet is going to run this story unless they can say an impact.

The "Display total price" toggle should just be deemed misleading all together. It's explicit that it includes fees and not taxes, but is withholding tax info really the total price? No.
