Why are you multiplying yearly salaries with months? :) JetBrains devs likely cost around 100k/y year here in CEE by the way. But I think 3M is a reasonable guess, 30 FTE years (7 devs, 1 PM, 1 UX, 1 "overhead" (other managem

I'd be very surprised if this took 5 FTE years, I'd assume way more. Especially including all the non-devs necessary (designers, managers, etc.).

I believe there’s no chance GCP will be abandoned or shut down. These fears are just HN’s usual exaggeration. Google is pretty ruthless with small projects, but GCP is as significant for them as Google Workspace. Does anyone think they’ll s

You can't really mock static methods though, so it makes testing harder.

Huberman talks about this in his podcast - he says that "don't stack dopamine". In this context - try to run without podcasts, then you'll enjoy more running and podcasts too.

This is one of the major benefits of LSD (long, slow, distance) running, especially for people who have (a slight) ADHD (like me). It allows you to have solitude. I can't sit down and think quietly for an hour, because I .. just can&#x

Samsung's recent foldable phones (e.g. Galaxy Z Fold 3) are proving to be quite reliable, the crease is still visible to some extent but they don't tend to break.

People claim full support for gender equality, etc. At the same time, they find it OK to ban female nipples (but not male nipples), also it's not OK to not wear a bra in offices, etc. Horrible.

A very simple test for workplace burnout: do you feel that 1) customers 2) colleagues are {malicious, idiots, ignorant, lazy, etc.}? One of the simple models for burnout says that the 5 phases of burnout are: 1) honeymoon phase (just after

Maybe interesting insight: trustpilot scores can almost exclusively be attributed to whether a patient has data in the system about them or not. If a person does get data, then it's a 5. If a person has an empty record, it's a 1.
