Please Google, implement binary replication from an external primary. There's no way we can move to managed SQL because it'd take weeks to import the SQL dump.

Can someone explain my why is this significantly less problematic than sending out app hashes? If we accept that most developers don't have many similarly popular apps, then isn't this enough to infer what apps are users running?

When I left uni, I got around 15 job offers. I went with the one with the lowest pay, because that's where I had go to through the most difficult interview process. (Unfortunately this happened in a small Eastern-European country, so t

I am not saying the market is perfect, etc., just that looking at benchmarks and deciding that the stock must be overvalued because the benchmarks don't look good is an oversimplification.

The industry is not moving _this fast_. Intel still has many-many opportunities (and years) to catch up. > If you still own any Intel stock it is probably good time to dump it. The market already has the information you have, so it is un

In my experience, most of good management is about figuring out why am I not doing the right thing (as a manager). Knowing what needs to be done is much easier than actually doing it. Example: giving feedback is notoriously hard, even if it

CLR is fast and efficient. C# is an open standard. It's not worse than Java at all, and JVM is also extremely fast and efficient (some Java apps are not, of course). Java- and C#-based GUIs are generally better than Electron-based GUIs

I remember a couple of years ago I was on the top of some old volcano on an island, and I was dictating shell commands to a colleague so that we can quickly fix our expired certificate. Good old days.

I have a >3 year old GPU that's still faster than any mobile GPU. I have been having 64 GB RAM in my desktop for ... 5 years now. Even in the summer my PC is completely quiet, even under heavy load. (Both the GPU and the CPU are wat
