They have toned that down a bit over the years since that video was recorded six years ago. The videos are really informative, and you can always close your eyes and listen if you like.

Honestly I think for me it goes back to the “beans beans the musical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot” song but if you were able to diagnose some deep seated personality defect on my part instead based on my reaction I would love t

That’s good advice. I have an idea for a slow social network that’s based on your town/region/city (like bbses, and then local IRC channels were like) to help provide a place for online local community. It’s probably a pipe dream,

It would be nice if they also didn’t call tweets “toots”. It’s a minor thing and I recognize this is a me problem but I can’t help but think of verbal flatulence when I hear it.

Cool idea! I always have ideas to make these sorts of community apps, but end up worrying about trolls and talk myself out of it.

I think that building a high performance organisation starts way before you get to the point where you need an emergency leadership directive at the beginning of a downturn that from now on you’re going to turn up the heat and hold people a

That’s true, but at a company that size when the order comes all the way from the top to “turn up the heat?” Sounds like a recipe for misery generation.

How does this work well? Aren’t the good people the first to leave if you decide to make everyone miserable?

Is this the same Riccitiello from EA? If so he laid me off twice in two different layoffs. Maybe he is a guy they bring in for that sort of thing?

Here in the Netherlands they love country music, both modern and older styles. I'm not sure what the connection is, but there was a local city-wide battle of the bands sort of thing here in my home town and _every_ band was playing blu

Wow! I’ve heard GitLab CI is hard to learn because it’s so expansive, but never that it is non-existent. Do you mind sharing more?

I have been so happy to be on GitLab again after some time working at a company that used GitHub. The issues and epics in particular are so much better, and CI seems to be more reliable.

I find it strange how a common impulse seems to be to wire AI up to children as quickly as possible. So many projects it seems are oriented around AI to generate and illustrate childrens stories.

It’s hard to fathom believing there’s nothing new or relevant happening with the 2022 invasion, or why if there was a lead-in to the conflict that would be on its own a reason to conclude that there’s nothing to be done now.
