I don't get it. People would still need to board into this pod thing and then they'd have to move the pod onto the plane and check to make sure it's secure and such. That seems like it would take even longer. I suppose one co

Honestly if she brought $10k to the table and you brought nothing then you can't expect much out of this. A company with no revenue has an entirely subjective valuation. A company with debt and no revenue is, in most cases, worthless.

The targeted ad technology sucks. It basically just shows me ads for things that I've already purchased... for months afterwards. Also, I'm convinced most other ads just don't work. Once those finding this current circus real

I don't have a problem with someone that hosts a few guests in their home 2-3 times a month and having them around the dinner table (what Airbnb advertises in PR that they do). I do have a problem with people running illegal hotels and

Excellent point. Amazon makes huge margins on AWS (despite the prices seeming rather low to many people). That's a giant recurring war chest of cold hard cash that they can and do use to fuel their other businesses. If one is going to

Oh man. You'd have to be seriously high on jet fumes to throw more money into the this sinkhole. I don't see this playing out well.

More signs that tech startups are overvalued... needed to broaden the base of suckers to maintain the viability of some future IPOs.

"Real" airplanes have the same issue. That's why all the charts and databases are updated frequently and pilots are responsible for ensuring the latest data is available and loaded into the onboard computers. On a typical sma

Interesting idea although there are a lot of technical issues that would make what you describe more challenging. A simpler approach is positive enforcement. Force manufacturers to hard code drones to not fly near airports or other restrict

The stats don't quite work like that. As others have said the vast majority of fatal accidents are down to some form of either direct pilot error (eg putting the plane into a spin at low altitude) or very poor decision making (eg takin

Well a lot of other people are saying "It's crazy that a company with that few people and that little profit can be worth that many billions." Hence Twitter's problem at the moment.

Oh I agree, I didn't say I thought the company was going bust... just saying that this is likely the start of a lot more focus on the hard numbers of tech companies and less focus on hype-based valuation (although the later isn't

A sad day for Twitter, but a dose of reality for a lot of the fluffiness in the market at the moment. Companies need to have real revenue and produce real profit and then need a valuation based on sane multiples. Twitter got behind that cur

Not really, a licensed private pilot can fly into class bravo airspace in something like a 172. Happens all the time and the NYC controllers are actually quite good with this. Flew with a pilot friend and ATC took him right over Manhattan a

The business model sounds deeply flawed. The fact that they've been burning cash like crazy (like building a fancy HQ before even getting any revenue) isn't a great sign. I wish them luck but things are going to get real ugly real
