At least it got this one correct. "Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered

I had a coworker who tried to show me the value of VIM by asking me to program in Word. Interesting approach, but the lesson fell short on me.

I had to solve a problem with which nobody would/could help me while working at the university help desk. I coded up my own little solution in php (3) and MySql (3). Yeah. I was one of those.

The transition from python 2.7 to python 3 bit me in the butt. Having said that - it was resolved quickly by some friends in the community.

I find your definitation of "creating things" narrow and shallow. There's a tremendous amount of creativity that goes into customizing an OS to meet every need you have --- and ONLY those needs.

Hooray for ad-hominems and sweeping generalizations! I've found the Arch community to be EXTREMELY helpful because they are encouraged by people who want to know what's going on and not just taking whatever is pre-packaged into the distro a

i agree with your sentiment. however, to nuance it a bit more. if, as you say, "software is now a cornerstone of the world economy. modern life runs through the internet. even if you personally avoid the internet, you depend on it." then it

Well, existing redundancy is an indicator that a structure can be normalized right now. I guess the way I conceptualize normalization is that it reduces the possibility of storing redundant data now, or in the future. Not saying that it is

Without any sense of what your project will be doing it's a bit difficult to forecast data growth, reporting needs, etc. Having said that, I don't really see Excel as a legitimate choice for being a data back-end. It is a front-end for data

"This is a critical distinction that even this article seems to gloss over." It actually seemed heavily emphasized, just with few words. Perhaps that's the point. Competition is so ingrained into the "American" psyche that we can't conceive

Interesting. I've already got it. This will take some warming-up to. The old "Google" search page shows up with the new menu on the left. When you start typing in the search field for anything in particular, the field jumps up to the top.
