From what I understand Tinder was never actually a startup, just a side project at IAC, and IAC has owned the company from the start. I'm not sure there are actually any legitimate "founders" or if the early engineers on the

Yeah that is true but I could just not expose my credit cards and not worry about catching fraud in time to avoid having to deal with problems. These days you have to read your credit card report carefully to see if you've been victimi

When I see that "remember me" checkbox I thought about how they were storing that information. There's usually no obvious indicator someone is using stripe, you just see a form asking for credit card input. I tend to never ch

I think we wont see Northern Exposure in any non-physical, digital format in my life time because of all the crazy rights involved with the show. :(

This is interesting, but the features aren't comparable to Dropbox and this is a sideshow for Amazon. I don't want to store my precious files at a place where storing files isn't the primary focus of their business.

I'm pretty sure Dropbox doesn't change the binary data. What service changes it?

I liked your comment and voted you up but Microsoft's Linux on Azure is really weird. It's obvious there's a windows thing somewhere up in the higher levels because of the way certs are done and ports are used. It's all

Well fortunately there are no changes happening to how it already works. It's just added features if you want them, if you don't then don't use them.

I also prefer using the terminal, but I've switched to neovim anyway. I found macvim to be difficult to configure and I just prefer having tmux terminal splits next to my vim split and I can see stuff happening as I edit the file. I al

That analogy only seems to work in a system where everything is moving. If two objects are at rest relative to each other they are still attracting each other right?

Police can get a warrant to force you to vomit up drugs you swallowed, so forcing you to put your finger on a thing being a legal thing shouldn't be a surprise.

Given that we need to stop emitting carbon into the air within the next few decades to avoid predictions for disaster, I think we should do whatever we can? Energy companies make a great deal of money, and they have a social responsibility

Not being able to have 64bit integers in node.js on a 64bit linux kernel can be a considerable issue. This fix can't come soon enough, having to wait for the version after the next is too long.
