This thread is about LLM replacing people, so yes you're confirming that you do need a skilled person to get working code out of it.

The instructions seem to have to be so specific and repeated that you need a full-time person to review and retry. My last struggle was creating an SVG arrow pointing to a specific corner. Both Claude and CGPT failed with many attempts.

I thought WordPress was just a tool, but that’s not the only tool in the house.

Wait until they detect you have them partial access and lock the app until you broaden it. See Google Photos: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26472708

This is the sad truth, however one can only hope to at least reduce the graph points.

Say yes, then deny the system permission. At this point, iOS does not allow you to change those permissions in-app once you deny them. The only exception is photo access, which lets the app request access to more photos.

If you paid attention, every single successful social app got so successful because of dark patterns that could be summarized as: spamming you and your contacts.

Surprised because Apple is the company that made this sort of permission request so granular. Contacts contain some of the most permanent and “graph-building” data you can imagine, but they let this through for 17 years.

About time. They better not let apps lock you out when you only allow 1 contact though, like it happens for photos (see Google Photos)

In an ideal world, orphan TLDs should be kept alive until a new country with that code is born. New registrations should be closed though.

You care, but you’ll probably just switch to a fringe browser that has far more permissions than an extension. Ok.

I don’t think people care about giving permissions to one of the most popular extensions ever. The advantages of giving that extension full access are quite clear and the dangers minimal.

I had these issues too a few years ago. Now the review time is shorter than Chrome’s and hasn’t been flagged in a few years. However my extension has about 10k users, if that makes any difference.

OpenAI did it so I don’t see why Apple couldn’t. They process data on the device and already have the Siri precedent, which receives, stores and analyzes data from every invocation. I don’t think there’s anything inherently new and unknown

I disagree. To me it looks like Apple is trying to put the EU into bad light. They have already said they’ll bring AI to European countries in 2025 but for the whole summer the news was “the EU won’t let Apple bring AI to the masses.” Even

How would you feel if WordPress.org suddenly decided to lock ALL installations across the world and ask for $800/site/month to access it? Is it their right? Sure. I don’t think you’d be here defending them though.

I keep not getting it. WordPress.org is offered as a free download and it accesses the website FOR FREE. Complaining that people don’t pay for free stuff is not a healthy mental state. WP Engine is no different from the million hostings tha

Yeah, exactly. Do you really want to put that much effort because “redesign boo”? Makes no sense. Put the effort learning the new UI and move on. Every single “bring the old X back” project ends badly, you’re just extending your own pain by

No this is more like city hall saying “you can’t build here” 10 years after watching you build. Too late, the house was built and you implicitly gave permission for it.

I don’t think I’ve seen a single codebase using that pattern ever. With React being so popular and TS growing in popularity just about after React, people have settled on `as` assertions instead, whether they use JSX or not.

You have not maintained popular open source projects for consumers then. There is a reason why the VLC repo no longer has an Issues tab: https://github.com/videolan/vlc PRs can’t be blocked and you can already see some
