You can hide the Issues tab, but not PRs. In the PRs you can set a PR template the says you don’t accept PRs and set up a very simple GitHub Action workflow that auto-closes and locks PRs opened by others.

On a related note: the worst thing you can possibly do as an open source developer is to create a product for the general public to use. You hate tickets without repro? Enjoy the barrage of “help. Doent work”, “me too” and “HELLO IT’S BEEN

This is it. It’s like comparing “being seen by others at a nudist beach” vs “being recorded for the whole world to watch forever.” Not the same. Also a lot of people wouldn’t appreciate their neighbor talking (or even hearing) about them ha

It would be safe to assume that Apple will eventually add a way to recompress your photo library to JXL… if they weren’t in the business of selling storage and cloud storage. They have in the past released tools to optimize storage so it wo

How would you feel if a stranger came up to you in the street and said they appreciated the wiki article you were reading last night? I think everyone wants “privacy by default”, they just don’t make the connection between this hypothetical

It’s not that straightforward due to spelling. Does that catch køk? Tihts? P. Nus? For a non English swear word, I had to ask 3 times and about a specific language to finally make that connection.

This is cool. Is there also a way to show contents of the image as indexed? i.e. image 1 has cat and dog There are a lot of tool/apps that let you “search images” but not much that lets you just as easily “read images”

Lenses are definitely a factor in “quality” of photos, so some situations are impossible/hard to recreate with mobile phones. What mobile sensors will never achieve is fast shots in the dark. It’s physically not possible. While “nigh

Is it? I think that thanks to transparency mode and conversation detection people are keeping them in “full time”. In noisy environments I just keep them on without music and they help me hear people talk.

Vision Pro’s battery fits in your pocket. Cables falling from your body isn’t a new thing for Apple. But yeah I don’t see it happening because they’d never acknowledge that taking your watch off twice a day is a chore.

This makes zero sense. Unless there’s a specific need to replace or upgrade at the tail end, not buying a new phone will continue to work. This is just a new excuse to get a new phone with extra steps. If you want a new iPhone, get a new
