Thanks for commenting. I'm curious why you wouldn't master specifically to the format. There are so many nuances to vinyl with mistakes that can deeply impact sales when the job isn't done right. For my own part, we had to re

In the mountain photos, IMG_1187 and IMAGE 2024-12-03 08:31:09 are the iphone photos. I think they're fine. But the alternate images (which are by a Canon PowerShot S50) convey better the lighting of how the scene actually looked IRL.

I get that you're saying this as if to point out the hipster-ness of vinyl. I work in the music industry and have personally overseen the manufacturing of 100's of thousands of records, so I'm as much an expert as anyone on t

My kids started asking for vintage digicams about five years ago. At first I wrote it off as a fad. And it is definitely partially that. But when my kids started taking pictures with these cameras, I realized that the pictures were, subject

Everytime I order Grubhub/etc - which is like you decreasing quick to never again - I miss Foursquare. Foursquare did exactly what you’re talking about in terms of surfacing new places. But it was friends who were doing the surfacing.

I'm genuinely curious - can you elaborate on "constantly being talking down to? insulted as a white supremacist, nazi?" Does this happen to you in personal conversations with family members or with friends who are left? Or ar

I am the kind of guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. I grew up in a familialy dishonest context so being open and transparent has been my default. That attitude is a liability at work and I’ve learned the hard way. We’ve all heard the ph

If the Post endorsed Harris but then added an addendum that this was the last election they’d be endorsing, this would make sense and seem a lot more impartial to a now 40-year tradition. I went to return something to Amazon and though it w

I’m thankful I saw these pictures, if deeply unsettled. We can’t (just) take an individualized approach to a solution, which is an artifact of the 80s and 90s when corporations and governments shifted responsibility to the individual to rec

This felt inevitable which is why it’s not front page everywhere. It also doesn’t help that we’re in a bit of a lull with AI. I was with friends who don’t work in tech and AI came up in conversation at dinner. The general consensus is that

Sounds like you’ve confused wanting attention for freedom of speech. As you yourself point out, you’re entirely free to say whatever you want on your own setup. But what you want is everyone to pay attention to what you’re saying. There is

This is interesting but if you’re genuinely interested in recapturing the feelings many of us had at the beginning of the web, I would suggest playing Hypnospace Outlaw. It’s of course quite different than websim but it’s really fun.

I bought the Affinity suite for 50% off. It’s a bit like designing with one hand right now because things are different, but it’s on par with CS6 in terms of functionality, and without all the superfluous bs that gets crammed into CC.
